Thunderbeam Development Access (Mac)
A downloadable game for macOS
Thunderbeam is a point-and-click adventure set in a universe that diverged from our own in the past.
This version of the game is user-scriptable, which allows players to experiment with writing their own adventures using the game's engine. For more information view our scripting documentation pages.
FAQ:
Why is this only available for Mac?
We were developing the game for the iPad as a first target and there's also a Mac build as a result. Apple doesn't allow the sale of beta versions of iOS apps, so we are focusing on the Mac build here, which includes modding access not available on iOS. If we ever manage to port to Windows or Linux, we will definitely add those versions here as well (we started this project back before there were attractive ready made 2d engines that allowed for simultaneous win/mac/linux builds).
Who is making this?
Thunderbeam was made by three people with kinda stressful fulltime dayjobs/university programs. We started this prototype back in 2011, during a very different time in indie game dev. One day we would love to pick it back up with a port to Unity or Godot.
How do I get off the spaceship?
This version was limited to the spaceship, but there is one other planetoid game environment that would be included in the next version.
